Career-Technical Education

The Henry County School System offers six program areas in career/technical education. Presently, there are thirteen certified employees teaching in these program areas. Among these areas are Agri-science Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, Health Science, Business/Marketing Education, Cooperative Education, and Brick Masonry.

Approximately seventy four percent of students in grades eight through twelve are enrolled in career/technical education courses. Students who are enrolled in these programs have the opportunity to gain academic knowledge as well as practical knowledge. Also, students in these programs are taught leadership skills through participation in the FFA, FCCLA, FLBA, and VICA clubs and organizations.

Our school system has articulation agreements with Wallace College in Business/Marketing Education and Brick Masonry. Students who become program completers in these courses can clip beginner courses at Wallace by passing an exam administered by the college.
