Henry County Schools Enhance the Communication Between Schools and Parents

The Henry County Board of Education is excited to present the introduction
of a new program that will enhance communication between schools and parents.
This program is called STICaller and will be implemented at Abbeville Middle School,
Headland
Middle School and Headland High School.

This is a program that works in conjunction with the student database to
promote parental involvement. It is an automated system that enables parents to
hear important information about their children, such as attendance records,
discipline infractions and grades.

The system will directly read student database files and either call out and deliver
messages to parents or allow parents to call in and inquire about student
information. STICaller conducts calls to parents, as well as call parents to inform them
that their child was absent or tardy, or if there was a disciplinary action.

The STICaller system can answer inbound calls from parents encouraging
parental awareness by enabling them to dial into the school and listen to their
child’s absence record, recent grades, or current homework assignment. Parents and
students will also be able to call in and listen to important announcements from
their teachers in reference to important student information or get future
announcements from their teacher in the event of an absence or holiday.

Parents will soon receive a letter in the mail with the phone number to call,
instructions for calling, and a pin number. With this information, they can call in and
listen to the options to access their child’s information. Students will be given a voice
mailbox number from their teacher to call in and listen to important information such as
homework or other special assignments in the event of a holiday or other absence of faculty.

With the introduction of this program, parents in Henry County will have access to
daily information about their child’s progress in school as well as learn of any areas
of behavior problems that their child may be having. We have plans of adding this
program to the Abbeville Elementary, Abbeville High, and Headland Elementary Schools
in the near future to offer this communication to all parents of Henry County Students.

We are once again pleased to bring this technology to the students and parents of
Henry
County and we are certain that this will further enhance the importance of
parental involvement in student success in the schools of Henry County.
