Hello to all!
It is indeed rewarding to be back at the school where my love for learning began!
I am a proud, dedicated 1993 graduate of Abbeville High School! This year (2021-2022), I will begin my 21st year in the educational field. My tenure includes the roles of a sixth-grade teacher at New Brockton Elementary (2000-2004), a fourth-grade teacher, an Instructional Partner and Reading Specialist at Harrand Creek Elementary School (2004-2021), and briefly a Math Specialist at Enterprise Early Education Center (2021). I have served in numerous leadership roles, such as a Lighthouse Coordinator, Extended Day Coordinator, Summer School Coordinator, and countless others.
Immediately after graduating from AHS, I humbly served in the Army National Guard for eleven years (1993-2004) which included a 2003-2004 Operation Iraqi Freedom tour in Mosul, Iraq. I received my Associate in Arts Degree from Wallace Community College, a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education at Troy University, and a Master’s in Instructional Leadership from Auburn University at Montgomery (Roll Tide!).
In my spare time, I thoroughly looooovve working at our family restaurant (Ruby’s in Abbeville)! Other past-times include being an active member of the Improved Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the World (Wiregrass Temple #566) and being the treasurer of the most illustrous sorority in Greekdom... Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (Dothan Alumnae Chapter)! With NO hesitation, I am also looking forward to cheering on our mighty, mighty Yellow Jackets this fall as well as yelling RooooooLLLLL Tide! #HiveNation #RollTide #WinningSeason!
My ultimate goal is to better AES in all aspects, to include the climate of the school, the morale of the student and faculty body, and the community. Together... EVERYONE achieves more! With that being said, let's T.E.A.M. up and "Level Up" for Success!
Humbly serving,
Miss Linda Lawrence
