Greetings!
I am beyond excited to serve another year as principal. I've had the pleasure of being part of this awesome team for 21 years. After relocating to Sweet Home Alabama from The Sunshine State of Florida, I changed my career path from being a classroom teacher for 10 years to the Reading Coach at HES. Holding this position for 4 years led me to further my leadership goals and I became Assistant Principal. Serving as the Assistant Principal at HES for 7 years gave me the insight and drive to be in my present position as Principal. It is a privilege to be in a profession where I am surrounded by many talented teachers and students. I have held various leadership experiences, but the one I am most proud of is being a mother to a wonderful daughter. I want nothing more than for her to excel with confidence and be a life-long learner. I feel the same way about all my students at Headland Elementary. It is my goal to provide a supportive environment and strive every day to instill in them the ability to become whatever they want to be. Even though I'm eager to begin year 10 as principal, in my heart I will always be a teacher.
